About Us

Pacific Islands Safety & Prevention Project Inc. ('The Project') is based in Massey, West Auckland. We are presently working in two core services, Social Services for Pacific Island families and children and Injury Prevention Services including Education for Pacific Islands Communities and Family Violence awareness.

The Injury Prevention Project provides education sessions in the community in a manner that is culturally appropriate. We provide training to educators using resources to deliver messages in specific languages and session delivery to Pacific Island communities. The Family Violence projects provide education and information at first point of contact. We have counsellors that provide appropriate services to our pacific people and also facilitate men's groups, couples groups, parenting and womens' support groups.

Our Social Services Project covers a wide spectrum of work. This work includes face-to-face counselling, group work, programme delivery, family support services, youth programmes and assisting in the setting up of new ventures and projects within our communities.

We cover issues such as family violence, rape crisis, sexual abuse, parenting skills, suicide, communication skills, budgeting advice and support, family support and advocacy, youth issues, etc. Family Violence issues are prevalent in the work we do.
